A smell-a-like is a perfume that smells like a designer fragrance but with a different name and packaging, and at a cheaper price. A smell-a-like isn't an exact copy, but often smells very similar.
PRESS REVIEW
Daily Mail (16 Oct 2013)
Issey Miyake L’ Eau d’Issey (£71.50, 100ml): A lovely, delicate fragrance — if rather dated. It has light aquatic notes (imagine clean water) but nothing too deep. There’s a slight floral hint too. It’s very fresh and summery in feel.
Autograph Isis by M&S (£16, 100ml): Quite similar to its paired fragrance when you first smell it. Those aquatic notes are there but I’m smelling the alcohol in this much more and once the alcohol has disappeared, I’m not left with much.
Verdict: Similar on first spray, but wait a few minutes and you’ll find the expensive one has far more staying power.
Comments:
I searched for this for ages, it's now been rebranded as aqua. It smells just like the original, but not as long lasting. overall not bad for a fraction of the cost.
Comments:
Didn't have the original for comparison - but on its own, a lovely light fragrance - my partner compared it to White Water... it's worth buying to see if you like it yourself.
Comments:
Purchased this because I had heard it smelled like Issey Miyake.Received it today and it smells nothing like it. Very disappointed.
Comments:
This is really close to L'eau d' Issey. Someone might not even tell the difference!
